Maison Margiela x Reebok

For the last chapter of Maison Margiela's collabration with Reebok, Creative Director John Galliano investigates the TZ Pump originally launched in 1990 and made famous by the basketballer Dominique Wilkins as a pillar in the evolution of sneakers. Celebrating its history by honouring the passage of time, the original design is interpreted through the natural deconstruction process of hydrolysis: the water-induced chemical breakdown of a sneaker’s construction, which inevitably sets in with time.
