Autumn-Winter 2017 Artisanal Show
For the Autumn-Winter 2017 Artisanal collection, creative director John Galliano reflects on the universal language of glamour and re-appropriates it for the future of Maison Margiela. The power of looking at the past and present through the lens of transformation and the hunger for the new. A future that is born in the techniques of artisanal tradition and captures technological innovation. Tailoring is informed through couture engineering, employing technical skill and fabric research to create new aesthetic codes for the Maison.
‘While established symbols remain intact, inspiration for a new glamour is filtered through the eyes of the beholder. Glamour requires an audience.’ Maison Margiela.
