Tapestry

Since the 1990s, we have reappropriated interior fabrics and decorative surfaces as materials of dressmaking. For the collection, aged tapestry patches material are applied to a shift dress as if furniture fabric was fluid, creating impossible draping. Accessories presented painting leather with a distressed 17th-century-inspired tapestry print.

Fusion

Fusion garments are created by bonding a material over another garment. The fusing material is deliberately longer and wider than the garment itself, creating a visible border. The texture of the fused fabric is light, meaning that the outline of garment details and finishings are visible underneath.

Bianchetto

The collection also expands a selection of garments using our house’s white overpaint technique: Bianchetto. The technique originated from our first studio furniture, overpainted in white. The paint cracks and naturally fades over time, revealing rather than concealing the passage of time and the signs of use.

Assemblage

Assemblage is used as an exploration of materiality. Disparate materials are joined: dresses are bonded to printed chiffon, patchwork linings are sewn in unexpected patterns and constructions, and tapestries are combined on shift dresses, creating an illusion of fluidity.
