The double-breasted jacket is crafted from cavalry twill wool. It is inspired by German photographer August Sander and his work “People
of the 20th century”, and recreates the lived-in feeling of heritage tailoring by applying a shiny patina on collars, hems, and pockets, as if the piece has been worn and treasured for decades. Maison Margiela’s signature, the Four stitches, appear at the back; the opposite of a label.
